Hiya from Hilary
Hello, Fellow Humans,
I've gone analog! Well, sort of. I still have this website, and the internet, and an effing mobile phone, but I've cut back on screen time to make stuff with my hands. This will likely surprise no one who knows me. I've always been in with the old, however, the past ten years+ the deluge of depressing headlines + the insidious AI robot invasion taking over the world has done a number on my nervous system. I've missed the tactile thrill that comes from creating art with paper, pens, glue, and a stapler. So I sat down and made a mailer called Hiya from Hilary that I will snail-mail to subscribers each month for a small fee.
Hiya from Hilary features writing and drawings by me. No bots about it. There's even a couple of tiny gifts included in each issue. And, full disclosure, There Will Be Flaws (working title of my future biopic.) I recently discovered (via therapy) that I've tried to cram myself into a perfectionist mold my entire life when, in fact, I should've been embracing my messy eccentricities. That said, there's a good chance each issue of Hiya from Hilary will contain at least one typo, uneven lines, and smudges. But, hey, that's part of the charm. See, there I go owning my process. Imperfections aside, I promise this mailer will give you a lift and jazz up your mailbox, or your mattress is FREE! Okay, no free mattresses, but you can cancel at any time.
The revolution is just a glue stick away.
